Multiplying & Dividing Negative Numbers

4 simple rules to remember:

1) negative x negative or negative/negative = positive

2) negative x positive or negative/positive = negative

3) positive x negative or positive/negative = negative

4) positive x positive or positive/positive = positive

Examples:

1) (-5) x (-3) = 15        (-12) / (-4) = 3

2) (-5) x 3 = -15           (-12) / 4 = -3

3) 5 x (-3) = -15              12 / (-4) = -3

4) 5 x 3 = 15                   12 / 4 = 3
