Equipment Bookings for Students

Laptop & Netbooks

Each Library has a number of laptop computers (PC) and Netbooks that students can sign out to use on campus. Loans are made for a maximum 4 hours on a "first-come, first-served basis". No pre-booking necessary.

  • Sign your Library Equipment Loan Agreement [PDF] at the Library Help Desk of any Centennial College Library at the beginning of the semester (or print it here, sign and bring it to us).
  • Pick up laptop or Netbook at the Library Help desk. Your current College student photo ID card or Library-issued card must be presented each time you borrow.
  • Power supplies will accompany each laptop.
  • When you are finished, return 'powered-up' laptops for inspection by Library staff.
  • Report equipment problems to Library staff as soon as possible. For help with software or other technical support, contact the IT Helpdesk at helpdesk@centennialcollege.ca, or call extension 5280.
  • Laptops are available 30 minutes after the Library opens and up to 90 minutes before the Library closes.  Check Library hours here.
  • If you return a laptop late and the Library is closed, take the laptop to the Security Desk at your campus.  Security staff will note the return time and return it to the Library.  You will be charged overdue fines up until the noted return time even if the Library is closed.

Note: Loan period is 4 hours. If Library closing time is less than 4 hours away, loan time will be reduced. For example, a laptop checked out at 7:30 PM would be due back at 9:30 PM if Library closing is at 10:00PM.

Each studio has electrical and ethernet connections, a DVD/VCR player/recorder, a CD/DVD drive, and an audio recorder. A camera and microphone are built into the ceiling to record the area in front of a white board.
