Library & Learning Centre Services

Borrowing from the Library

In-person borrowing of library books & emerging technology equipment will not be available as of January 4, 2022 onward or until further notice.  Alternatively, we are once again offering access to our print and Emerging Technology collections through the Grab & Go book pick-up service.  Place a hold on your desired item/s and make a scheduled pick-up at any of Centennial’s 5 library campuses.

Watch this video to see how it works:

For remote learners, use our new mail delivery book service.

The library is not lending iPads or laptops. If you need a device, Chromebooks are available for students through IT’s Device Loan Program.

Returns

If you have a Library item from before the closure or borrowed through the Grab & Go Pick-up service, please return your item at any of the book drop-boxes at each campus entrance between 7am - 7pm any day of the week.  Unable to come to campus?  Contact us to discuss other return options.

Exceptions include equipment such as iPad & laptops:

iPads should be returned to the campus library from which it was originally borrowed.  To avoid damage or loss, book an appointment online or contact the Library directly for return instructions.

If you borrowed a laptop from the College, contact deviceloan@centennialcollege.ca to arrange for it to be returned or login to the I.T. Knowledge base for step-by-step instructions.

Fines

As a library user, you are responsible for all material borrowed and are subject to overdue fines and any charges for lost or damaged materials.  If you have unpaid fines of $10 or more, you cannot borrow or renew items.

For current Library fines or fees, you can make payments over the phone using a credit card, or in person with a credit or debit card (minimum $5), myCard, or cash.  For a list of fines by item, refer to our Borrowing policy.

Refer to the Returns & Fines section on our FAQ page for additional information.
