What is ASPIRE+?

Academic Supports Promoting Independence, Resilience and Empowerment (ASPIRE+) is a fun and engaging program for students on suspension that will empower you to be an independent and active learner.

How can it help me?

You will learn essential study skills that will help you manage your course load, study effectively and achieve good grades.

How do I know if ASPIRE+ is right for me?

If you have difficulty balancing school, work and life, leave course work to the last minute, have difficulty remembering course content and want to improve your grades, then ASPIRE+ is right for you!

What will I learn?

Some of the topics that will be covered include:

  • Time management
  • Note taking
  • Test preparation and test taking strategies
  • Reading comprehension 
  • Dealing with procrastination
  • Active learning strategies

In addition to these topics, this program also includes guest speakers and Lunch & Learns that will address some of the following topics:

  • Clifton Strengths Finder: Assessing and learning about your top 5 strengths
  • Financial Literacy
  • Career Planning: Am I in the right program?
  • Technology Based Strategies
  • Health & Wellness: Importance for academic success

What is the class schedule?

It's a 10 week program with classes once a week on Tuesdays.

Start date: Tuesday, May 21st, 2024          End date: Tuesday, July 30th, 2024

Location: Progress Campus

Course hours: 4 hours a week, 10am - 2pm

Will I have to pay to attend ASPIRE+?

No. Participating in the program is FREE.

I'm on Probation. Can I join?

This program is designed for students on suspension. If you are on probation, please connect with a Learning Strategist at and/or a Success Advisor for additional supports while on probation.

Who delivers ASPIRE+?

The ASPIRE+ program is delivered and supported by a team of learning professionals at Centennial College. These include Learning Strategists, Pathways Advisors, Success Advisors, and Peer Academic Coaches.

What are the expectations if I participate in this program?

Participants are expected to attend all classes, complete assignments, attend Lunch and Learn Workshops, meet with a Pathways Advisor, and complete surveys and assessments as required.

If I'm on suspension, will my suspension be released if I participate in ASPIRE+?

This depends on your program. Please contact your Success Advisor for more information.
